EBF period 3 months postpartum

This is some cruel joke right? The research says that exclusively breastfeeding delays menstruation for an extended period of time?!

My little one will be 3 months old on Monday, and today my period returned. I am flabbergasted. I exclusively breastfeed around the clock, literally every 1.5-2 hours during the day and 2-5 hours at night. We even co-sleep and she’s attached to me ALL day long! (She’s a very high needs baby who cannot be put down and needs to be moving at all times - we basically spend the entire day bouncing on an exercise ball).

Why me?! My body clearly doesn’t fit the statistic of breastfeeding amenorrhea. I am NOT ready to be pregnant again, especially with having such a fussy/difficult first baby. Ugh! Rant over.
