Should I keep try or is it too late?
I am almost 5 weeks postpartum and in the first 4 weeks I wasn’t able to breastfeed because of medical complications. I tried to pump but I was only able to a few times a day, my milk supply has severely suffered and now I’m only making 1 ounce every 3 hours!! I’ve been pumping every 3 hours, drinking nursing tea, and a whole bunch of water while taking my daily prenatals. I’ve been doing this for the past 2 days and I don’t see much of a difference.
My baby will also only tolerate nursing for a short amount of time before wanting his bottle, I’ve been using a manual pump until my electric one arrives.
At this point is there any chance of my supply increasing? Or should I just stop and accept that it won’t happen? I don’t mind putting the effort in but I also don’t want to waste my time if it’s for nothing, it takes a lot out of me and this is time I could be spending with baby.
Please help!!
