The end of my rope

So my husband and I work opposite shifts to prevent paying childcare. When I was on leave everyone suggested switching from factory to childcare. I was so against it but now our baby is 7months old and working opposite shifts is getting stressful. My question is "has anyone done the job shift and what steps are in that process?" I'm getting to the end of my rope and just realized I should have changed careers months ago! :0
