Portion control problems?
Ive been thinking about the obesity rates and you hear "oh it's because of the crappy fast food and junk food." But do you think it has more to do with Portion control? Ive been scrolling my other apps and ive seen people post pictures of their plates filled to the brim with "healthier" home cooked meals, but the portion sizes are massive with each food item, sometimes to the point where two plates are required. Ive also seen posts of fast food trips with massive amounts of food for one person as well and it got me wondering if it's more of a portion control issue than a junk food problem. Junk food can be alright, in moderation. Healthy food is great for you, unless you're eating far too much in any one meal. Do you think that portion control needs to be taught to people? Especially to children and teens to help combat obesity rates and unhealthy eating habits? When I was a teenager I didn't receive any kind of teaching about portion sizes beyond. "don't eat too much junk food." And looking back at how I used to eat, I was eating huge portions at least double if not triple the size of the portions I eat now. And now I feel much better physically, I'm not tired or sluggish all the time, Ive not been sick as much as I used to, and ive not had migraines since my eating habits changed.
