Is it okay to use toys? Christians only please.

Hi, this is something I have been thinking about.  My husband and I have been married for almost 2 years.  I have a lot higher sex drive than him.  So we are considering getting a toy for me. Something he could use on me and I could use independently.  He is fine with it, but I am not sure. What does the scripture say about this? I can't seem to find a clear answer.

I’ve been a Christian my entire life...married for 5 years. We have a few toys and it makes our sex life better! If it’s something that ends up coming between you and your husband and you start to only turn to it and not your husband then it’s a problem. God wants us to enjoy sex in our marriage. He created sex! It’s supposed to be fun and feel good and unite us with our spouse on a level no one else has. Part of the fun of toys is your spouse can use them on you... they aren’t just for you to use especially behind his back. My cousin’s husband is a pastor and they literally have an entire bin full of toys and they have a wonderful Christian marriage. Sex toys themselves are not a sin. It’s when they take place of your spouse then it can cause issues.

Masterbating and any kind of pleasing of oneself is not Biblical. It is against what marriage is supposed to be. You and your husband are to please each other and if you’re letting a toy please you, then it isn’t good for your marriage and can damage your intimacy. God created husband and wife to have sexual intimacy with each other only. Not objects or movies/porn etc. It’s all in the marriage itself and I would pray on it for sure. But personally for me, we don’t use toys of any kind. It can really hurt your marriage.

We use toys in our marriage. Nothing realistic however, and nothing by ourselves. We use them together to increase pleasure and intimacy. Your mind must be in the right place. 
If it brings sin into your marriage, cut it out immediately. But in my opinion its harmless as long as it's used right ❤️

You know, I used to be on the fence about this and after praying for wisdom and understanding, I have personally felt convicted by this. I no longer have a toy.. My husband and I actually have better sex since I stopped using one! I find myself more excited to be intimate with him when I’m not always “taking care” of myself. I would pray about it 🙂

I've been struggling with this too. I had two babies right in a row and I have been struggling with orgasm and sensation issues. So I went to a pelvic floor physical therapist and she recommended a vibrator. She said she doesn't even consider it a sex toy because we use vibrators/massagers on other parts of our body to increase blood flow and reduce pain, this would be to help me get back to normal. I've done a lot of reading on it. I know they can become addictive so I wouldn't want to use it all the time. Womenandsexuality.com had an interesting article on the subject. Look it up. If you're using the toys with your husband and when using them independently, thinking of your husband and not lusting over porn or someone else, then yes! Totally go for it.

I’m currently learning more about the Bible & where it would say what but there’s a looooooot used out of context.
Where the Bible is silent doesn’t mean we can just make up stuff because it says it somewhere something similar.
I believe PERSONALLY, that what you & your husband do consensually in the bedroom is entirely up to you two. There’s the debate about oral sex not being biblical, maturation, & anything that’s pretty much not missionary (I know crazy right?)!
But if you & your husband are in agreement to please one another however you see that playing out, just go for it. 
I don’t have experience with toys but I do not limit myself in the bedroom with my husband EVER! We are sexual beings, we were designed to be & within the marriage there shouldn’t be any shame or awkwardness or whatever. As long as you communicate.

I’ve been wondering about this same thing! Also been married 2 years. He is more hesitant then I am. I would say we only use it together. I’ve looked at some that are specifically meant to be used by couples. I wish I could be more certain what was biblically wise though!
