Baby breathing!?

My baby girl is almost 3 weeks old and I’ve noticed that sometimes in her sleep she stops breathing (or so I think). It almost seems like she thinks she’s sucking on a bottle and her tongue has locked to the roof of her mouth and she can’t actively breathe. She gasps for air and continuously tries to swallow.. it’s just a wild thing. I have to physically open her mouth or pick her up and turn her onto her stomach to get her to open her mouth and then she’ll take a deep breath and all is normal. Anyone else?!

I’m definitely going to talk to her doctor about it. It’s not just a typical pause in breathing. She’s doing the sucking motion with her mouth with nothing in her mouth and seems to be blocking her airway when doing it? So she is acting like she’s choking. I just wanted to put it out there to make sure I’m not over reacting 🤦🏼‍♀️ my poor baby seemingly... forgets how to resume breathing??

My 6 week old also pauses when breathing (about 2 seconds) her pediatrician said it was ok. But she resumed breathing on her own and does not seem like she’s gasping for air. 
Idk If I understood incorrectly, but you have to open her mouth ?? If this is the case I’d talk to her doctor.

How long does she stop breathing for? Newborn breathing is super weird. My little one is 2.5weeks and does rapid breathing and then pauses for what feels like ages but is totally normal.
If you're worried I'd definitely get her checked.
