Advice for a job with more details than my poll
To start off I’ve been searching for work for the past 6 months and this is the only job offer I’ve gotten, sadly my area is really bad with jobs looking for workers with entry level experience, I got multiple jobs interviews and at the end they all say try again when I have more work experience since everything else looks amazing. I got my certification as a veterinary technician by the way along with work experience at a few coffee shops, so I have work experience just not what they want. I don’t limit myself to just animal work but I don’t have retail experience so no one has really called back in that area and I’m not going to waste time making $2 per hour as a waitress. My husband brings in a very good amount per check but even so extra would obviously help anyone especially with us looking to buy our forever home. I’d be making $7.50 an hour working about 20-35 hours a week, some weeks are less hours and some weeks are more hours, I’d make enough to cover all the small bills for our home and to put the amount we usually put into savings. Would you take the job and still actively search for something better while getting the experience you need for your dream field or would you not settle and continue searching?
Edit to add: yes I understand servers can make more than this but with only getting paid $2.50 per hour and having to rely on tips doesn’t make me feel comfortable or trusting in the position when I would have a responsibility to help with bills
