Cholestasis?

Has anyone here been diagnosed with this? I noticed when I had a bowel movement my stool color was light and clayish colored. I looked it up and it is a symptom of Cholestasis. I have been a little itchy but not severe. I called the nurse at my OB office and she did not seem concerned. I am 31+3

A lot of the symptoms could still be apart of a typical pregnancy. Test results could take awhile to actually show elevated levels. If you feel something is off, push for the test despite them not seeming concerned. A lot of doctors are not super educated on choloestasis other than the fact that it gets dangerous for baby after 37 weeks.

I’m currently waiting on my test results to confirm it. I just want to jump out of my skin, the itching is bad on my hands, feet and legs. I’m scheduled for c-section due to preeclampsia but if the test result confirm I have cholestasis they will induce me at 36 wk and 3 days instead of the 37wk and 3 days.

I was diagnosed at 21 weeks. I had terrible itching in my hands and feet in the morning. I’m now 29 and some change. My levels were at 14 when I was first tested. My doctor and specialist both agree to induce me by 37 weeks, if you have a concern, definitely talk to your doctor about it at your next appointment. Levels are unpredictable towards the end of pregnancy and can rise quite a bit unexpectedly and quickly. I’ll be tested every two weeks at my normal OB/GYN and after 32 weeks I start seeing my specialist every week for non stress tests.
