Input on baby shower

Anyone else having someone throw your baby shower? If so, are you being asked what you want in terms of food, games, etc?

Long story short my sister and MIL were originally planning my shower together and have been having a lot of issues with one another. I’ve been hearing a lot of things that have been stressing me out, since my sister is trying to be respectful on my wishes (my very reasonable wishes—like planning a very specific menu since I have so many guests with similar dietary restrictions), but my MIL doesn’t give a crap about what I’d like.

When I was venting to a friend about how inconsiderate my MIL was being, she basically told me that I shouldn’t even have a say in my shower and all I do is show up. I was absolutely shocked by that since the whole reason the shower is happening in the first place is to celebrate my baby, and by extension, me being a FTM.

Has anyone ever heard of having a party planned on your behalf but you don’t even get a say at all if you want to request something specific that benefits your guests?
