Acid reflux?

So my daughter has been projectile vomiting for a while so today I took her to the doctor. Turns out she has a bad cause of acid reflux. Does anyone elses babies have this? If so what did that do for him/her. They gave my baby zantac.

My son was always projectile vomiting due to reflux. One of the doctors said the zantac they gave him just decreases the acid. I was told to put baby oatmeal in his bottles to help weigh down his spit up and it has made a HUGE difference. I’ll probably get crap for that, but his pediatrician recommended what was best and my son hasn’t ever choked or had problems with the oatmeal 🙂

My baby has silent reflux. So since she is gaining weight fine, we decided against zantac. We hold her 30min after each feed, and I have cut out dairy and switched her to Similac alimentum ready feed. It made a difference for her, although she still sounds uncomfortable sometimes, it's definitely better. If your baby is spitting up try Similac for spit up. instead of adding to her formula to weigh it down, this formula is thicker and does that. The pediatrician recommended it before I told her it's silent reflux and she doesn't really throw up.

My LO has bad acid reflux too - she vomits and spits up during/after every feed, every time we lay her down, every burp, every hiccup, etc. Just got done going round and round with the pediatrician for two weeks ruling out pyloric stenosis and cow’s milk protein allergy. Now we’re finally on the correct Zantac dosage for her weight, so I’m hoping to see some improvement finally. My LO was gaining tons of weight really fast, so the Zantac dosage was quickly outdated. I think she wanted to eat to soothe her throat and was taking in too much. At any rate, I feel your pain!

We did Zantac, paced feeding, and kept our daughter upright for 30 minutes after every feed until she was 6 months old. It was scary and exhausting (especially just sitting there for 30 minutes after every feed in the middle of the night) but it helped a ton and solved itself in the end.

My son was projectile vomiting and diagnosed with reflux. We trialed reflux formula and it made no difference. So he’s on Zantac and it’s helped so much. No more vomiting and barely any spitting up. Switching from powder formula to ready to feed helped some too.
