Why would my doctor say this?

At my doctor’s appointment yesterday he seemed to think that our baby will be here early, but I didn’t even ask why he thought that. Do doctor’s normally make these predictions? We are due December 23rd and it got brought up because I was curious if he would be on vacation since it’s so close to Christmas. He said not to worry because he didn’t think the baby would be here on my due date. He is estimating he’ll be here early 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Maybe you’re measuring a little big? But honestly there’s no way they can know any of that for sure (unless they’re planning to induce you...)

Usually doctors will sometimes say that if they check you and see your dilated and if you’ve been having some contractions here and there. But I don’t know what would make him think that if you just had a simple normal check up where they listen to the HB and send you on your way.

Baby might be far down, you might be softening. It could be anything. Don’t let them induce you for no reason tho. Let your body do what it do.

Not sure! So weird because today at my appointment my doctor said baby could come a week or two early!! But I never asked why.. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️
