If you have tattoos , can you still donate blood?

Hi ladies, i was wondering if someone with tattoos can still donate blood? I want to get a sleeve done & more other tattoos, but i have a 6 month & i'm wondering if something was to happen to him ( god forbid) would i be able to still donate him blood ( if we have the same type of course ) to him or someone else in need ?

In most states you have to wait a year after getting a tattoo to donate blood.

You can, but there typically is a deferral period of about six months/ a year if you do (that's if you are just donating in general).
I'm not sure if this would be waived in case of emergency.

It depends on what started you have it done in based on the state regulations. Like others said, a lot of states require a year long period before being allowed to donate. I'm not sure about emergency situations, but I'd assume they would adhere to that too in those cases. I had to wait a year to donate  because I got a tattoo in Maryland.
