Mom and sister had early babies what are my chances?

Hello ladies,
My mom had myself and sister 4/3 weeks early before her due date and my sister had her girls both 2 weeks early. Is this something that runs in the family? Is there w good chance I will be delivering early? It’s stressing me out as I am over 32 weeks now & not sure if I should start really cracking down on getting things ready 🤷‍♀️

From what I e read there is no evidence to support this idea.
From personal experience my mom had 5- done early some on time and one over....
I had one on due date and one early.
Either way I think it’s good to be prepared. I’m 33 weeks and hospital bag is almost fully packed just need a couple of things and I’m washing everything in the next two days

I think the more likely indicator of your baby coming early is if baby is consistently measuring ahead. I know non-large babies can come early too but large babies seem to come early or on time. Imho. Good luck!

My mom went earlier for her 3 and my sister went early for her two.
So I for sure thought I was going to go early but my first born was a day late and I was induced a few days early with my second (so not sure if I would of gone early or not if not induced). 
So it’s hard to tell what will happen for you, everyone and every pregnancy is different. I’m due the 19th with this baby boy and I just hope he waits till after I’m done with my final projects (dec 4th)  for grad school before he comes.

Like others said, not a lot of research about it. My mom had me and my sister 3wks early. My sister had my nephew 4wks early. I had my daughter 6wks early. I’m 31wks today and just preparing for her to come at 34wks again just in case. In my opinion, there is something about genetic history but OB said there just isn’t enough research done to prove that.

I’ve been having the exact same question I’ll be 31 weeks on Saturday but for some reason I keep thinking my baby is going to come soon like real soon...i have 2 live births & my first one was exactly on time my second one was 4 days late so I dk how this little guy will be..I haven’t washed any of his clothes nor packed a diaper bag I don’t even have diapers yet!!! But not reading all of this I think I’m gona get to it

There’s no hard science behind going early or late based on the other women in your family. However, there are somethings that can be common threads that result in similarities.   ie - if you and the ladies in your family tend to have a short cycle and or ovulate early you’re likely to go early.  If you share a medical condition with them that makes it more likely you’ll go early (incomplete cervix, preeclampsia etc) you might also go early.  So depending on why they’ve gone early and if it’s something you have in common with them - you might be more likely to go early but it has more to do with being in a similar situation rather than solely being related.

It’s hard to say. It may be a possibility. But it’s honestly a possibility with anyone. I’d say it’s better to just be safe than sorry and get the things done that you need too. I’ll be 32 weeks Saturday and I already packed her hospital bag. And within the next few weeks I’m going to start getting out the car seat and swing and what not (we have that already from our first baby. It’s just packed away). But her clothes are already washed and put away and her room is almost done. Just a few finishing touches. I say you can’t ever really be ready too early. You truly never know when your LO will make their appearance.

My mother & sisters all had full term/ plus term babies 
Myself 4/5 of my births have been preterm with earliest PROM at 24wk born at 26wk
Now pregnant with baby 6 and they hope I make it too 34-35weeks
