My mom & I have custody of my nephew

Because he just wasn’t being taken care of,

He was always dirty, sick, hungry & saturated diapers when he came to us. When he would come parents would leave him weeks on in.

& we’ve had him since February but are second court date is coming up and we don’t know what to expect nothing has changed with his parents they’re both not working & can’t support themselves mom attempted suicide a few months back & even mistakenly texted my mom trying to do a drug transaction also a couple months ago. She doesn’t call him at all just expects to pick him up every other weekend.

Theirs a court order at the court house that says my mom already has custody of him ( she attempted to file for full custody ) but couldn’t because they said she already does & parents have joint. At this point we don’t know what order to go by? Regardless we’ll be fighting like hell for him ! He’s prospered since being in our care he just started speech therapy because he doesn’t talk at 3. & his skin has cleared of a big deal. He’s a totally different child. & it would break us to have to place him back into that same environment that broke him.
