Coconut oil for pumping ?

Hey ladies! 
I saw a video of a lady rubbing coconut oil on her nipple before pumping . Does anyone do that ? If so why? I’ll be going back to work soon so I have been stashing milk for when I go back .

I rub coconut oil in the phalange before I pump to lubricate it. It helps save your nipples from blisters! My friend who exclusively pumped told me about it with my first kid and it helped sooo much, especially if you’re planning on pumping while at work.

Pumping should not be uncomfortable or cause blisters. If there is any uncomfort whatsoever, you ladies may be using the wrong flange size. A lactation consultant can measure you and get you the correct size. Not only will it be more comfortable, you will pump more milk as well! I got measured and I don’t feel anything at all when I pump!

Yep! I use coconut oil. Used to put it on the flange but instead just apply to nipple and areola to moisturize and protect from chafing.

My nipples were raw (and lanolin didnt help) so I used coconut oil (also helps if you get thrush).
After a while it stopped being as effective so now I mix between coconut oil and then olive oil (stays moisturized longer). Honestly without them I'd have quit pumping weeks ago!

I exclusively pump, I use coconut oil or a spray for pumping called CoBoo. I use it to help with friction and it makes pumping more comfortable for me.

I have exclusively pumped from the beginning and I wish I would have used it! My nipples were ripped up for the first 6 weeks. They have since toughened up, but I would have been way less miserable those first six weeks if I would have used it.
