Ttc after iud removal

So I had my mirena iud removed May 1st of this year. We are actively trying to conceive but not trying too hard yet (just letting what happens happens) while my body is still adjusting to being off all forms of birth control after 7 years of being on one form or another.

While having my iud in I did not get a period! It was great don’t get me wrong, but now that we are ttc and I am counting on those periods to know when I’m ovulating, I’m always waiting and hoping for a regular period.

As of May when I have had it removed I have only had 2 periods (I test every month to see if I am pregnant) and they are longgggg.. I’m talking over 2 weeks. I had my first period after removal in August and then didn’t get one in September and got one this month that is still going (on day 14)

So I guess I’m looking for advise? I don’t know when is a good time to go to the dr about this or if this is normal? How long will it take for my cycle to go back to normal? I swear it’s like I’m getting a period for the first time again I feel so out of swing with my own body :(
