Grandmother Is A Smoker
Hey everyone,
You all have been so helpful and honest in my last posts. I wanted to get your thoughts on this.
My mother is a smoker. I had asked her if she would quit smoking by the time the baby comes. Her response was, “No. I just won’t smoke when I’m around her or will change clothes if I do. You know like I’ll have smoking clothes.”
I’m still not ok with this. Cigarette smoke/toxins can also be in her hair and skin.
I don’t trust her being alone with the baby and perhaps not even holding the baby....
Am I overreacting? There have been studies on third hand smoking and I just don’t think she will understand where I’m coming from. She’s been smoking even since I was born (pretty positive she smoked with me while I was in her belly).
Thoughts? Please I am open to anything. I just want the baby to be safe.
