Am I in the wrong?

Question

I've had Mavericks name picked out for years and finally we get to use it. My cousin who miscarried then comes out of the woodworks claiming that she was going to name her kid that even after I told her that's what we were naming him... Now I am horrible and my aunts, uncles and cousins are all mad because I am naming my son Maverick... 
I have had 2 miscarriages and we were due at the same time and she lost her baby at 5 weeks... 
I'm thinking it's overly petty but it's started a family feud 😂 
Am I in the wrong even though I was pregnant first and had the name picked out for years? And everyone knew it....

No you’re not in the wrong. You have every right to name your baby what you want. They’re being petty over something that’s stupid tbh. Who cares what they think, you’re not naming him that out of dispite of her, you’re doing it because you picked that name of years ago and because you like the name. Do what you want and what makes you happy, and if your family can’t be happy for you then that’s their loss😌

I hate when people take claim to a name when they’re not even pregnant. 
With my first son (we didnt know the gender) my SIL and I were in the kitchen talking about names, I hadn’t told anyone at this stage what we were thinking. I mentioned that I like the name William. My other SIL was sitting in the next room and was listening in and came into the kitchen and said “no you can’t use Will that’s my name.” 
She wasn’t pregnant. She didn’t even have a partner at that stage. 
When my son was born it came down to William and Kade and I chose Kade. I love his name and am glad I went with it over William. Either way very frustrating. 
Anyone siding with your cousin obviously love drama and can’t and don’t want to see the irrational side of her story! 
Name your baby whatever you want Mumma! Congratulations!

Try to keep it from getting nasty. The way I’d see it is you get to use the name you’ve always wanted to and you’re honoring her baby. I think she’s just hurting so she can’t see that right now. Me and my sister were both pregnant but she lost her sweet baby and my mom and brother were asking if I would name my baby after hers.. but my sister already gave me a name for my little one that I wanna use. So they definitely see it as a way to honor my niece.. try to get your family to do the same!!

I've had 3 miscarriages and we always talked about names. But I would never tell anyone they couldn't name their baby something I just had in mind.. you are having a baby and unfortunately she lost her pregnancy.. that's not your fault and you have the right to name your baby whatever the hell you want to. I feel like this is more jealousy on her part vs her actually liking the name. You're not in the wrong.
