Children at baby shower???

Hey y’all! So my mom was planning on inviting the kids on our side of my family to the baby shower. But my MIL says we shouldn’t and she’s not going to include kids on her side. 
Curious on everyone’s thoughts. Are children welcome? I thought yes. ?

My family always aowed kids at the showers. I did for my first too. 
"Thanks for celebrating my baby! But.. leave yours at home" doesnt seem right.

Around my parts, if you disinvite the kids, nobody would show up. Baby showers are family events and young children are part of the family. Can't say "let's celebrate my baby, but you can't bring yours" without looking like a prick

I’m having children at my shower we’re having a kiddie table for them. We have a lot of little ones on my side of the family so it’s kinda hard to say no kids. However, if the environment isn’t kid friendly you’re risking some child having a mini meltdown lol

One of my best friends is throwing my shower. It is going to be at a pub owned by my uncle (who is also our boss). And because the room is not very big we did respectfully request that men and children not attend. Plusssss...we are serving three different kinds of Mimosas and cocktails and the cupcakes are infused with booze..🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ we live in Wisconsin if that says anything 😂😂😂 even the party favors are small bottles of wine!!

My friends all have super casual showers that include spouses and kiddos but I've been to a couple that are adult women only. Depends on the come you want, I think. 
Seems like in your case one of the mothers is gonna be upset anyway, so good luck!

We are having an afternoon tea on china for my baby shower so I didn’t say no kids could come but I didn’t include their names on the invitation. My family and friends are excited for an afternoon without the kids 🤷🏾‍♀️

I personally enjoy the company of children at events like this. They love the games and food and it's good practice for proper behavior in that type of setting

At mine I have a 10 year old niece who would be heart broken if she wasn’t allowed I don’t see any issues with brining kids I mean ur celebrating brining a child into the world so why not include them
