Medical neglect is real.

I get sooo frustrated when I see mommies post about their child having an infection or some other potentially serious ailment, but they don’t want to take them to the doctor. Listen, I get it, some people don’t have insurance and healthcare is expensive. However, there is no excuse.

Can’t afford insurance? Get that sweet baby on state insurance.

Make too much to put baby on state insurance? Add them to yours. Find a cheaper plan. Decide to pay out of pocket. I don’t care, just make sure you have a plan to pay for baby’s medical expenses.

It’s non-negotiable. If your child is ill, take them to the doctor. If your child has pus oozing from their body and it looks serious, take them to the doctor. It could get worse, and that would only make the bills higher.

Makes me wonder, like, are you even getting your child to their well checks?

There is something called medical neglect. It’s real. You can get your kids removed if you don’t take them to the doctor when they need to go.

I can see the other side, don’t get me wrong. I know how expensive medical bills can be. I know how broken the system can be. I am not ignorant to these details. But don’t describe a horrific ailment your child has and then say you aren’t going to take them to the doctor because you can’t afford it. 🤦‍♀️ There is assistance and there are ways. Make it happen.
