Why do you want (or not want) to have kids?

Curious as to what everyone’s reasons are

i'll probably just have one. kids are expensive and the world is already overpopulated, so i may consider adoption. i value education and being cultured and well-travelled a lot so i'd probably spend quite a bit on that, bc i'd want them to have at least the same opportunities i did if not more/better.

Because I’ve already given birth once and it was traumatic and left a very negative feeling in regards to children and childbirth. 
Also because I don’t know if I’d want to give so much of my time to someone else and have someone’s full life depend on me.

Sexually abused for 10 years was really traumatizing. I had a bad childhood so i feel like i havent gotten to live myself without being afraid or doing what others want me to. I would not be able to out mysrlf thru the physical trauma of it. Pregnancy and birth. Plus its expensive and youre dedicsting the rest of your life to someone else first always. Ive worked really hard to get out of the shit hole that i was born into. Literally escaped my father who was a drug addicted rapist who beat up my mom and step mom. All i want is to be happy. I have a hard time still some days. Ita not fair to bring a child into a situation where im trying to support them when i have hard days supporting myself. Call me selfish but im still working on myself. Ive had 10 years of sexual and physical trauma. I cant even stand when people yell even if its not at me. My stepmom was also unmedicated bipolar. Obviously overwhelmed but she would take it out on us kids. My mom was constantly depressed. Just a hard situation to grow up in and even after being out of it just trying to figure out that life isnt or shouldnt be like that just wanting to live a normal life.

If i ever have kids I’d adopt. There’s just so much to do in this world I’d rather spend time and energy helping others.

I don’t know if I do or not. I have said I don’t want kids because I like freedom and doing whatever I want, whenever I want. But I also want a baby lol. I don’t know if I’d want a child though and I guess that’s the problem. I’ll just be happy having my nieces and nephews to hang out with until they get to be too much and I can give them back. I just think babies are cute and it’s just so sweet taking care of them and watching them sleeping peacefully. I know they cry too but lol

I see other women my age having them, and I think it’d be pretty cute to have a mini me running around 🤷‍♀️
