Run away love

Ok there is nothing left for my son or I in our current state my Bestfriend lives in Massachusetts and offered I come start a life out there at least for a year they pay good in the work field I am in and there school are great but my Bestfriend is the person I will know  well except for one other state I don't anyone any where what do you guys think ????should I and if so how long should wait to make jump FYI I really need a fresh start never felt so trapped
