How early of a notice do people have to give you to let you know they are stopping by your home?

I'm irritated because my in laws come by and give us at least 10 minutes notice before they show up at our door. It irritates the hell out of me but my husband doesn't see the problem. My family always let's me know ahead of time (not the same day) when they're coming.

I like to know at least the day before. I hate random visits! I have a 3 year old and no matter how much I try the house will somehow end up a mess and I’m the type of person who’s house has to be in perfect condition before someone comes over. Thats just how I grew up and how I am. I need at least a day notice.

I would say a couple days ahead but plans can change so I would go for the same day. Even tho plans can change the day of but still lol

Same day notice and that front door may not open. I saw a welcome mat once that said “before you knock: did you call first? Am I expecting you?” Great door mat 😄

It depends. Usually a few hours or same day is fine if someone is just stopping by for a little while. But if it’s a situation when someone os spending the night, I prefer a couple days notice.

It depends on who it is. If it’s someone I like, just call me on your way over. If I don’t like them, then I need a few days to prepare lmao
