Does everyone get a 3rd trimester growth scan?

My last baby was iugr so i had weekly growth scans currently 34 weeks and haven’t had a scan since 24 week and i want to know how big baby #2 is

Nope. Usually the last scan is around the time they do all the measurements and such. They only do extras if they think baby is breech, if they think baby is measuring too big or two small or if you have any other reason to be monitored more.

My doctor just scheduled the growth ultrasound for 2 days before due date which I think is silly!! I'm a FTM so this is all new to me! I havent had any complications so my last ultrasound was at 19 weeks.

I’m having a scan at my 36 week appt to make sure my midwives hands are correct and baby is in fact head down. 
Other than that I’ve never heard of scans even being done in the 3rd trimester unless you’re high risk or get an elective ultrasound

I am only getting one because I am high risk with Gestational Diabetes and not measuring normally. It is not normal to get a 3rd trimester scan, makes me nervous! 😩

No, not everyone. Everyone’s doctor is different though. I know people in my area that get ultrasounds at every appointment. I got one at 8, 12 and 20 weeks then I did do a growth scan at 36 weeks. My fluid is a little higher than average so I’m getting another one at 38 weeks. My office tends to like to do the 3rd trimester to check on growth. Not always though.

I am only getting them because baby is measuring small. My fundal height is 4 weeks behind but baby is only two weeks behind by ultrasound. My hospital does do a handheld ultrasound at 36 weeks to check baby’s position.

I have mine next Tuesday when I'll be 36 weeks because they believe she is breech and big. With my son I only had the one at 20 weeks, all depends on your doctor and their concerns.

We tend to only get growth scans if we're high risk or they think baby might not be growing properly (UK) I get bi-weekly ones

My doc is giving me one....due to the fact that im trying for a VBAC & my first 2 babies were 9lbs. Dnt wanna risk tearing while pushing if the 3rd baby is going to be 9lbs also.

I just had mine today, I am 33w 5d because I lost 3 kg during last month but the baby is fine 4lb 20 oz everything is normal, head down position was also confirmed.
