It depends. Do I want to know if they've beaten, raped or murdered someone? Yip. Do I want to know that when they were 15, they stole a candy bar out the cupboard when their mom specially said no candy? Nope.

I don’t think your past necessarily determines your future but it does have something with who you are today. I do know I wouldn’t want people solely judging me on what the last 29 years of my life looked like. We grow and evolve everyday.

Absolutely. Their past is what made them into who they are, good or bad. I'm not there to judge them on it, but I like to understand what happened to shape them into they are today. A person's past is thier entire life up to this point, and that's important

Well, I mean.. our past is literally what makes us who we are. Our experiences mold the person we become.
So, yes it is important. 
But, I mean, that doesn't mean you can define someone else based on what little you know about their past experiences..

I think if they’ve been abusive or a drug addict or raped someone before then I think id want to stay away from someone like that. 
For example most drug addicts struggle to stay off it especially if they associate with other drug users, also some addictions can lead to others. A lot of clean ex drug users turn to alcohol instead of using drugs when times get tough too. Ive also known people go from taking MDMA once at a party or in clubs quickly try harder more addictive stuff like cocaine and they have ended up with serious debt issues because of it.

Like a previous commenter said only if it has to do with like being a sexual predator or some gang shit.. but like just the average person no. I’m only 24 but I am not the same person I was at 17. When I’m 30 I won’t be the same person I am today..
