Need help losing some weight

Like alot of people I say I'll start to work out and eat better but it never follows through. I'm to the point where I'm tired of putting it off and need to put in some work. But honestly I'm not sure where to start. Eating healthier is my biggest obstacle. I'm not so much a cook so I'm not sure what to even make. I google recipes sometimes and a lot of times it consists of ingredients I havent even heard of. Does anyone have and tips on just starting out?
