I’m due on Dec 2nd with my second baby, but my doctor said she’ll likely induce sometime the week of November 25th depending on the state of my cervix. I was induced with my first and it went really well so I’m not too concerned there.

Anyways, when I told my MIL this news, her response was “well that means y’all might have to miss Thanksgiving again this year, which would be two years in a row you’d ruin it. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday”

I know she was joking but it still irks me. Last year our daughter was one and was hospitalized in the ICU for a week with RSV over thanksgiving, so yes we had to miss dinner at my in-laws. It was the most terrifying week of my life and our daughter’s life was in jeopardy at some points, but the main take away is apparently that we ruined thanksgiving 🙄.

Similarly, sorry we might “ruin” thanksgiving again this year because we’re giving you a new grandson. Being due Dec 2nd (4 days after thanksgiving) she had to have been aware that there was always a decent chance we might not be able to come to thanksgiving this year.

Anyways, I know she is joking and all that, i just needed a quick little vent.
