How is your spotting?

Hey guys! My period is due on Wednesday. Yesterday(Saturday) I woke up to light pink spotting once while wiping and then followed by brown. It tapered off throughout the day, and now today there hasn't been anything. My question is..do you guys start spotting 4 days prior, skip a day of spotting, only to have it start up again? I'm having some cramping, but nothing that's bad. Only when I think about it I notice it. I'm just confused because I dont ever spot before my period, but I'm also not keeping my hopes up because I know it's common to do that for a few days before your period. Thanks!
