Do Americans Really?

Stupid Question, but popped into my mind. 
Do Americans really wear their shoes from outside in their house, like on TV, or do you take them off at the door.

If my shoes aren’t dirty I’ll wear them inside. But if it’s raining I’ll take them off when I come in. All depends on where you are in the US. I’m in south FL so it’s not like I’m outdoors hunting in the mud lol

Dirty work shoes go off at the door. But like a flat or running shoes I'm more flexible. I don't like hang out in them at home, but will walk around if I need to for a bit until I have time to take them off. I'd say generally though, shoes off at the door or in the kitchen. If you have carpeted rooms, then please don't walk on my carpet with shoes, ick!

Dude I’ll take my shoes off in the car and will walk inside with my socks on. Also depends on how tired I am too

We take ours off. But yes some people do wear their shoes in the house. It’s extremely gross.

I make everyone take theirs off at the door. My daughter is crawling and walking but mostly crawling so I don’t like all the nastiness of outside to get on her hands.

I do it and I'm Scottish. I clean my floors and I don't care about germs. But then, I have animals and they don't take their shoes off ^_^ there's going to be germs regardless!

I grew up in the south & my family usually doesn’t wear shoes inside OR outside 😬 
It’s split though, I know people who don’t wear shoes in their home, and I know people who do. 
I prefer that my family not wear their shoes in the house, but it happens. I do not allow mine or my husbands work shoes to go passed my foyer.

I tell my bf to take his shoes off but he doesn't really follow it all the time. He cant be bothered sometimes 😣

My man wears them all day. Last night we stayed up til 3 am and he still had his shoes on. My fam don't care if shoes are worn in the house, we just don't put them on the furniture. In my house I dont really care about the shoes, we just take them off whenever
