Flu vaccine???

Is the flu shot safe/recommended during pregnancy? I heard this year is going to be a rough one !

It’s absolutely safe and the antibodies you will make are passed on to your baby! And, in my opinion, it’s extremely important since your baby can’t get a flu shot until 6 months old. That will put our babies well into the depths of flu season next year too before they are old enough.

My OB office said its safe. If you get on the Center for Disease Control (CDC) website it also says it is safe during any trimester. I'd still do a little research and speak to your doctor first. I got mine 3 days ago and nothing has changed.

Talk to your doctor but mine said it’s safe! Also look for places giving gift cards. I’m in the southern US and Publix gives a $10 gift card if you get a flu shot there with insurance.

For a healthy pregnancy, it is safe. I'm high risk for miscarriage due to clotting disorder so he wants me a little farther in first trimester before I get one. I'm worried bc i get sick so easily and 5 year brings germs home from all the time so I'm gonna rely a lot of hard immunity down her for at least the next month. Which is frustrating bc I discovered not a lot of people get the flu shot down here and soooo many people get sick

Safe and recommended!  There are already cases of it in my state, so get it sooner than later. It takes about 2 weeks to build up the antibodies.

I’m a nurse and have to get the flu shot every year ..which I don’t mind .. I get it for my son to.  Last time I was pregnant I got it right before I found out I was pregnant and was concerned if it was better to get earlier In pregnancy or wait a little bit.  Doctor said to get it but just to get preservative free.  My job gives them out free but it is prob not preservative free.. so now I’ll have to go get it somewhere else.

I’ve never gotten the flu in my life, so I’ve never felt the need for a flu shot. Fast forward to my daughter starting kindergarten last year, and we both got Flu A twice (confirmed by  testing) and it was miserable. One of those we both ended up with pneumonia. 
We all had our flu shots a few weeks ago. Aside from my arm being a bit sore for a day, I’ve had no complications and I am 8 weeks today. The flu is going around early this year (there have been numerous confirmed cases in my daughter’s school already this year) so if you plan to get one, I would go soon.

I was supposed to get the flu vaccine but my doctor sent me to the lab and forgot all about it. Smh my next appointment will be in 3months. Might see if my obgyn can order it or go somewhere else
