Native Deoderant VS. Crystal Mineral Deoderant

Tina S.

I have not used aluminum based deodorant in almost 2 years and it has been much better and it feels cleaner on my pits! Using the crystal rock for a long time, I eventually and naturally got rid of armpit odor over time. I experimented with 3 different types of natural deodorants: Crystal rock, Crystal Mineral Deodorant, and Native. I learned that the Crystal Mineral deodorant promotes no odor and provides the cleanest application to the armpits.

First, I used the unscented crystal rock. It literally is a rock that you wet with water and run over your armpits for odor protection. It really works but if you like scented products then this one isn’t for you.

The roll-on Crystal Mineral deodorant lavender scent is what I personally recommend. It does not add that waxy build-up or layer on your armpits and it keeps the area smelling good (even if you forget and go a day without it). You may still perspire with it on, but not as much. Whether you sweat or not, you won’t smell any odor. It’s natural, no harmful chemicals, smells good, and cheap for such a good product! It costs about $3.95 at the store. This one is my favorite!

I kept hearing about this ‘Native’ deodorant so I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I purchased the Vanilla Coconut scent for under $10 on Amazon and tried it. It smells great, definitely keeps your armpits dry, and protects you from odor (if you make sure to use it every day). One thing I don’t like is that it puts that heavy waxy layer over your armpits (like when you use regular deodorant). One day, after a week of use, I completely forgot to put it on and I smelled! I was surprised because I have not smelled like that in SO long!! So...I HAVE TO make sure I wear this deodorant everyday or else my pits will smell unpleasant for a day. If I went one day without using the crystal rock or Crystal Mineral deodorant, I wouldn’t have this happen to me. I truly believe it’s the way the waxy substance of Native leaves that residue on your skin VS the roll-on & Crystal rock for the other two natural brands. The roll-on and crystal are both lighter to apply onto your skin which makes it easier for the pores in your skin to breathe whereas the waxy substance of Native is heavy and feels like it may be blocking the pores, in turn giving your armpit a bigger chance to build up odor....if that makes sense.
