Who will be with you?

What's your take on having someone besides s/o being in delivery with you?
My mom is my best best best friend and I am having a hard time imagining going through it all without her, but my fiance wants it to be just us two. His reasoning is that his mom can't be there (she passed away 2 years ago this month) and I totally understand that but his mom got 3 grandchildren and this is my moms first. His mother would totally be with us in that room if she was here, no question about it. I just kind of feel like he is taking away this moment from myself and my mom. He has no problem with my mom, he loves her but I think he is just having a hard time thinking about his mom not being there too.

Your husband isn't pushing a melon out of his vagina so.... if you want your mom to be there she should be! Just talk to your husband about you three setting boundaries. For instance she can be there during labor and watch the delivery but then leave for an hour or two so you three can bond? The she can meet you later on the recovery floor.

I plan on having my mom and my fiancé there. My mom wasn’t all that close to her mom, but even she said that when it came down to the hours of actual labor, she wanted her mother by her. You’re in a tough situation, because it sounds like this brings up some feelings of grief for your fiancé, so you have to approach it in a sensitive way. But I think while birth and the moments after are both of yours, the process of labor is really your ordeal, and you deserve to be as comforted as possible.

This is YOUR birth you control how YOU want it to be. If you want your mom there then have her there! I think having a support team of people that love you will make this experience easier and more enjoyable for all of you. 
It’s going to be just me and my baby’s father.  me and him haven’t really been on good terms and I’ve been alone through out my pregnancy, the only reason I want him there is for my daughter,because one day she’s going to want to know her dad was there and I want her to have pictures, and for him to bond with her. But honestly, I kind of don’t want him there because it’s been me and her for the past 8 1/2 months on OUR own. Just me and her (she’s all I have), but I’m having him be there for the sake of our daughter and that he actually wants to be there.so I won’t deny him that.

My husband and I just were alone in the room and to be honest for us that was the best way to go my mom was hurt initially when I told her that it would just be the two of us but the moment That I got to share with my husband with no other distractions was something I will never forget and when I deliver my second son it will just be my husband and I in the room but that’s just my opinion. 
Also my husband has a special way of calming me down so that aspect really helped me deliver my son quickly safely and peacefully it was just a very calm special moment that I think is very important for you and your husband as well as your husband and your baby my son and my husband have an incredible bond and I truly believe that is because we chose it to be just us in the room and we could all focus on the three of us without any distractions￼

I wanted just my SO. I mean you're not doing much in there in the beginning so i don't see the big deal but during delivery and stitches yeah not sure I'd have anyone else there. 
Then again my mom didn't want to be there either.  So it depends on mother and her mother's comfort.

My husband only. My mom will be taking care of my first child. She was there for her birth but I feel she is more beneficial being home playing and taking care of my first. I am also shooting for a med free delivery, which I didn’t do before. So I really only want my husband there for that.

It’s just going to be me by myself in the room 🙃 with my first I had my ex-fiancé and mom and i was thankful because my ex fell asleep and my mom helped a lot it was only 14hour labor.
