40w 4d and a little upset

I went to the hospital last night at 9 to be induced and spent all night and morning there. They gave me three doses of cytotec and it hardly did anything. My doctor told me my chances of a c-section went way up at this point and that I could keep trying the cytotec today ( which would make risk of a c-section go up each pill basically) or go home and wait till tomorrow and try it all over again and see if anything has progressed. I chose to go home and rest. Has anyone dealt with this or something similar and still had a vaginal birth? Or has any advice?
