Hospital threatening to call CPS?

I know this might seem like one of those stories where it’s like “oh they MUST be leaving something out.” Nope, here it is.

So my son is in the hospital for a second time this month. He’s 2 months old and has a disability that causes issues throughout his entire body. He couldn’t keep down his formula so we took him in to keep him from getting dehydrated.

My husband works full-time and uses his car for work, transporting things between warehouses. We only have the one car, no money for an Uber, and no family to take me to the hospital.

Regardless, we only go home for meals and to sleep, because my son’s machine sounds alarms all night and the nurses never show up to turn them off or even check on him. I was here two and a half hours before anyone came in here today.

We can’t just eat out and come back because we’re trying to save money. Now they’re saying they might call CPS because we’re “not here enough”. They’re making me stay 72 hours straight before they discharge him.

I feel like this wouldn’t be happening if we were white, older, and had money. I’m so upset I want to cry. I live and breathe this child 24/7 and he has not missed a single appointment since he’s been out of the NICU. He’s fed, clothed, clean, and cuddled. I’m doing the best I can and I feel like I’m just getting judged.
