Are Hollister and American Eagle clothing still popular with teens?

My oldest starts middle school next year. I was just wondering what the popular/trendy stores are now? I know elementary school has been nothing but Nike and UA for the most part.

As a middle school teacher, I recommend having your child follow their heart and not trends. Being a good person and a good friend is more important than wearing the latest brand name. 
But if you really want to buy what’s trending, then visit a school event and make observations. In our school, athletic wear (UA, Nike, Addidas) are popular, but so is being VSCO (although we don’t use that word because it was causing issues). Personally, I’m not a fan of VSCO mostly because we went from girls wearing leggings as pants to girls looking like they aren’t wearing pants at all. Oversized t-shirts and scrunchies are in (although now girls give their scrunchies to guys they’re dating, but don’t seem to care when a guy has on 4-5 scrunchies...). 
Personally, I’d like to see jeans come back into style.

i’m 27 and i still shop at american eagle lol. but if u shop around at diff stores they will have the same style on the mannequin and that’s what’s trendy.

I would say AE is a bit more popular. I haven't seen too many clothes with the name blaring out at you. Marshalls, Ross, TJMaxx all have nice clothes. My sisters shop there.

I'm 25 and I'm still wearing American Egale Jean's lol I also wear  Miss Me Jean's a lot but they can be expensive.🙄🤷‍♀️

I just had this conversation with my sister! For a lot of girls at least like my niece who is now 13, the trend is to be a VSCO girl. I had no idea what that meant... I guess 90s fashion is back? So Hollister, AE, etc must be out. My niece is trying to shop at places like Adidas, Nike, Target, thrift stores, Pacsun. I feel old 🤷🏻‍♀️
