What time to put 4 month old to bed

Question

Usually my son sleeps 9-5, but he’s always whiny starting at 8, so I tried putting him down at 8 last night. He has a nap in evening around 6, but I think he’s having sleep regression because he didn’t go to sleep until 10:30 last night so I’m not letting him have that evening nap today. 
Of course now he’s whining because he wants his nap. Should I put him to bed sooner than 8?

Ours is in her crib and sleeping by 7pm! We start bedtime routine at 6pm. 
I read on lots of sleep articles that babies will rarely sleep past 6-7am, regardless of what time they go to bed. And they need 11-12 hours of sleep. Of course, every baby is different, but I’d definitely start an earlier bedtime.

We were doing bedtime at 8:30 because thats when my baby was falling asleep since he came home from the hospital. But the last 2 weeks hes been a nightmare and refusing to sleep so tonight I let him tell me when he was tired. He started to look tired around 7 so we went up and read a book and nursed and now hes in bed for the night and went to sleep without a fuss even though he just had a nap from 5:30-6:30. Hoping he sleeps good tonight!

Try to adjust to allow 10 hrs of night sleep... weve always shot for and get 11-12 with bedtime routine starting 630-7!

Our bedtime is 7-730. He’s usually out around 7:15.

Bedtime is 6-7. If he is cranky he goes to bed closer to 6.
