Job Verification F*ck Up

I recently got an AMAZING job offer. I’m currently in the background/drug screen portion and things are going terrible.

I forgot to include my address of my sophomore year apartment. Then, I filled out the application and just put my 3 most recent employers because I just graduated college last May. That was a mistake. They asked why I didn’t report all my jobs. But they were short term, awful jobs you worked in undergrad. I worked at Home Depot, Nike, Quiznos, and an adult sex toy store, not a professional job. I wouldn’t write that on my resume lol. It was fun, but not useful. I worked the last 2 years of undergrad as a manager for a large massage franchise.

Well, this huge massage franchise sold its stores to a new holdings company. And the store front has no history of me ever working there, and the new holdings company has me listed as an “associate”. I started as an associate, but I was quickly promoted. I’m pretty proud of that. When this new holdings company reported this to the company that has extended me an offer, they asked me to PROVE I was part of management. This store has had so much turn over, it’s been bought and sold, no one I worked with is still there, so I can’t get a reference. I have no way, that I know of, to prove this is discrepancy. They don’t want anything that isn’t from a letterhead from this company I have never worked for, and the only record they have of me is inaccurate. The job offer will be revoked if I don’t fix this. I worked my tail off for this, so it sucks it comes down to a mistake 🙁 but that’s life right?
