How long after you have sex should you wait to take a pregnancy test?

I know they say you should wait until after a missed period or up to like 5 days before you’re supposed to get your period? But I don’t see how I could get a positive test when for example I had sex today but I’m supposed to get my period in less than 2 weeks. So I guess I’m asking when should I take it?

i’d say 4 weeks after the sex. if you have irregular periods no telling when your period will come. you don’t wanna test too early either.

If you're tracking ovulation it makes more sense for when. If you had sex in your fertile window, then wait and see if you have a missed period. If it wasn't in your fertile window, then most likely a test is not needed.
