Diaper Genies?

Question

For all the experienced moms out there, do diaper genies actually work? Do they only really work for pee diapers, and not the stinky 💩 diapers? 
I’d hate to purchase something that’s doesn’t really work well. Is there a better way to toss out the diapers without trapping smells in the bedroom or the house in general?

Works for sure!!! When u open it to empty it u realize just how well lol I would never go without one.

I used one with my first. It was cool and all. But I haven’t used one with my second and I won’t with my third. Just not necessary. I take out my trash in my house every day. If there is a really extra bad poopy diaper then I immediately take it out to the trash can outside.

They do get stinky. But if you empty it everyday it should be fine. Whether it works for everyone or not I still like it. I don’t have to figure out what to do with a poop diaper while changing it in the middle of the night or stress when we have a bad diaper that I need to get rid of right that second. I don’t know about anyone else but I don’t want to bag it up and walk it outside in the middle of the night 🤷🏻‍♀️ I find it helpful.

I don’t own one, but I’ve been places that have them and I still smell the diapers. I feel like no matter what kind of diaper pail you get, you can become “nose blind” to it. After about a year, I ended up just throwing out all the diapers in the big trash bin in the garage after each changing. I tie them up in old plastic grocery bags or the plastic diaper bags you can buy.

In my opinion I love mine. I've used it with all my babies you can put pee and poop in them but obviously poop gets stinky if left for a few days so you have to change it every couple days but it's so much better then open trash cans and running to the dumpster several times a day

I have them in their rooms! I find it works great! For downstairs we just use old grocery bags and take them straight to the big garbage outside.

I only use it for the poopy diapers. I find it really really keeps the smell away. You have to buy the carbon refills though, if you don’t then the smell is very present.

I had one but my little poop machine of a daughter filled up a diaper genie within a day, sometimes if I’m lucky 1.5 day and it was not convenient having to change it and take it out daily. So I switched to a bigger 13 gallon trash with a lid and that bought me an extra day (lol) and also did the trick for no smell. 2nd child I’ll be passing on the diaper genie again
