Do you wake your infant up in the morning if theyre sleeping past usual time? (SAHM)

My LO (5.5 months) is usually up and ready to start the day between 6-730. She’s still sleeping right now. Do I wake her? Her naps have been pretty short/unpredictable lately.

Nope. On those rare days I sit awkwardly downstairs twiddling my thumbs and wondering what kind of sorcery is this.

Wow I'm one of the few that do. I do it otherwise the rest of the day is off and she won't take her naps or nap when she's supposed to. I'd give it 15 more minutes in the morning after when she normally wakes up, but that's about it.

My 2 year old was sleeping in quite a bit at one time and I just let him sleep. I just felt he must be pretty tired/growing if he was still sleeping. I didn’t want him to be thrown off by it but eh we’ll get back on schedule eventually and we did.

I’d split the difference. By the later end of their usual wake up window, go in quietly and open the blinds and or turn on the lights. That way, they’ll get the circadian rhythm signals there used to, but also they can wake naturally.

I let her sleep. It did throw off the day, but she was still in a good mood all day and had 2 good naps (it’s been 1 pretty good nap if I’m lucky and 2-3 little naps). Since her 2nd nap ended later than usual, we just did an earlier bedtime than normal. We’ll see if I end up paying for this one 😅

This morning it was 7 and both the three year old and 6 month were asleep. I lay in bed reading  and relaxing before chaos ensued. Use that time to relax because it’s very rare. Between taking the fat cat to the vet, the 3 year old to school, and the dog fake limping (she is dramatic as hell) I haven’t had a chance to take a break or a minute to myself. Even when I went to the bathroom the 3 year old was knocking on the door over and over . It’s nice to read or have quiet time.

No way! But my little one wakes up between 5:30 and 6 so sleeping until 7 is sleeping in to him and it happens very rarely.
