Would you quit your job if you had 1 million dollars?

Question

My mom said that she would quit her job if she got a million dollars or at most, work part time. 
I said that one million dollars is a lot of money but not enough for me to quit my job. I would still be working if I got one million dollars.
What would you do if you got one million dollars?

No. I'd use it to buy a house, buy a new car, donate to charity and put the rest away for retirement/ investment account.

If I got a million dollars, then I'd put a lot of it into my savings account but no I wouldn't quit my job either. Definitely be taking some vacation time though! 👌

I live in LA. A million dollars is "chum change" here. All I'd be able to do is buy a house and that's about it. I'd have to have a job to even afford property taxes and living life.

a million dollars doesn't last as long as most people think it does, unless you have a sizeable amount sitting in investments and money market accounts. but just surviving off of a million dollars isn't a whole lot. i wouldn't quit my job over it, but i guess it depends if over a natural lifespan,  the 1 mil would be more than if you were to keep working at your job for the rest of your life.

Sure I would if I didn't like my job. You can always get another one later. Of course im really frugal and good with money. I would buy in cash the house I wanted,  a car I wanted within a certain price. I would collect interest on the rest to pay taxes,  utilities,  other things. I value time more than material things. But yeah,  if I needed money,  I'd for sure be working. I've worked the majority of my life starting at junior high.

So I actually did the math on this and if you won $1 million on the lottery and got it over the course of 20 years you would get about $40,000 per year after taxes which is more than I make at my full time job. I despise my job. I have no energy to deal with people or take care of myself. I'm not allowed to see my family on holidays because I have to work. I'm miserable. I'd leave 100% and try out a few different jobs to find somewhere that I could stay long term without getting so worn down so fast.
