Buying used toys for Christmas?

So I’m thinking of getting my baby mostly second hand toys for Christmas. Is this wrong? We can afford brand new toys but we’re just extreme cheapskates and since it’s his first Christmas he won’t understand the concept or notice if the toys are new or not. Honestly he will be happy playing with the wrapping paper more than anything.

I don’t buy anything new except diapers and wipes and I tell all my family that before they send the unused and unwanted toys to second hand to send them through us first and we will make good use of them

I personally say a hard no to most toys at this age for the fact that most toys are hard to properly clean and prior babies will certainly have put them in their mouth.

Also specifically for Xmas he’s not gonna get much from us . Maybe one or two decent things and unless yes stuff he needs I really hope no one buys him “toys”
