Fluoride toothpaste for babies?

I just recently took my 9 month old to the dentist and I was told to use fluoride toothpaste on his teeth twice a day. I’m just not sure if should use fluoride or fluoride free. We do baby lead weaning so he is eating table foods.

I just talked to my sons doctor about this and she said we can use adult toothpaste with fluoride but dont lather the toothbrush with the paste only put a tiny tiny amount.

My pediatrician didn’t specify on toothpaste but did say that he needs fluoride. We have well water without fluoride in it so she prescribed him a vitamin that has it. We currently use fluoride free toothpaste but that’s only because that’s all I could find in the store for baby safe toothpaste. I don’t think fluoride toothpaste would do any harm so long as it says it’s safe for babies
