Melatonin while pregnant ?

I’ve fallen into a rabbit hole here, has anyone talked to their health professionals about taking melatonin while pregnant? The research is really conflicting.

Melatonin regulates more than sleep, it also has an effect on sex hormones etc. it’s better to just use 12.5mg of unisom

I fell into the same rabbit hole and decided against it ultimately, although I wouldn’t judge anyone for deciding the opposite. For me, the deciding factor was that unisom is approved and it works just as well for me, plus it helps with my nausea, so I just went with that.

Unisom! And the doctor will also tell you to take it for morning sickness! It’s a life saver!

I used melatonin every night before pregnancy and then the dr took it away once pregnant 
:(  my OB  allows me to take Benadryl instead to sleep. Makes no sense to me but I’ve been taking it the entire pregnancy and have been fine :)
