Is it sleep regression if they’ve never slept through the night??

Question

My son is 4 mo and has never slept through the night. Ever. He always wakes up multiple times to feed. 
How do you all do it?? How do you get baby to stay asleep?? He’s EBF. I nurse before bed and we have a night routine, starting around 730pm. 
But he still wakes up 2-3x every night to nurse. Is he not eating enough before bed?? Is he napping too often during the day? He typically takes anywhere from 3-4 naps during the day. 
I’m TIRED. Any advice would be helpful 💙

That's just how some babies are. My baby slept through most of the night from birth. First she woke up twice, then only once (and now with sleep regression it's about 3 times), my friends daughter just turned 2 and still hasn't slept through the night yet. Both mine and her daughter were breastfed so I don't think it's to do with feeding. How long does your baby nap for during the day? Mine naps for 3-4 hours during the day and sleeps 10-11 hours at night.

That's our son too and from what I understand it's pretty normal and not much we can do. There was a time for about 4 weeks recently where he was waking up 4-5+ times and that was really hard so now three times over 12 hours seems like a blessing. 
At this age, baby should be getting 10-11 hours of nighttime sleep and 4-5 hours of naps throughout the day. Ours gets about 2.5-4 hours of naps and seems fine with it. He has a Max. Wake time of about 2 hours. 
The first time he wakes up is usually 3-5 hours after being put down (before the "regression" this was more like 5-7 hours) and my husband settles him without feeding. The second and third time I usually feed after unsuccessfully trying to get him to take his thumb. 
I think it's just a waiting game. Maintain good habits and stay the course and eventually he'll drop the feeds on his own. At least that's my plan!

My daughter, at this point, slept 6pm-6am with one feed at 3am. 
My son is up every single night around 2-3 hours to feed. I’m exhausted !!

My daughter used to sleep longer stretches and wakes up twice to feed. We haven’t been able to get her to sleep without feeding so we are just doing it and hoping we get through this. We are going to possibly do a dream feed to stop the first waking and then just hope she makes it to morning. Last night she was up at 11 PM and my husband fed her. Then she tried to wake at 3 and he got her back to sleep without feeding until 5:45. At that point we fed her and she slept until maybe 6:20. Now we are awake. I am just thankful that she sleeps in her own room. We coslept with my first and, while we loved it, it was harder than this. I’m glad we are staying firm with at least keeping her in her own room. This too shall pass. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My daughter used to sleep longer stretches too and is now waking up earlier than usual 😔 She goes to bed around 7:30 and used to wake up between 3-4:30, go back down and sleep until 7am. Now she wakes up at 2, not super hungry but wanting to eat. So we feed her and she goes back down but wakes up earlier around 6:00am. She’s tired but won’t fall back asleep on her own so we have to rock her and she stays asleep until 7am. We have tried getting her up at 6am for the day but she tends to be more fussy. Im hoping this is just a phase and we get our good sleeping baby again soon

I think it’s just the way some babies are. Some nights our guy will sleep 10 hours straight and wake once for a feeding. Last night he woke twice for a feeding. It doesn’t really seem to matter what we do, he just has a natural rhythm and it is what it is. Some nights are more frustrating than others, I try to just remember that this won’t last forever

My girl will be 4 months she 27th and she has never once slept through the night! We are still up to eat around 12, 3, and 7 every night!!
