Just another in law rant

I typically love my in laws, but their pissing me off lately.

My father in law makes my husband feel like a fuck up even though he’s not. He’s recently remarried to a woman with 2 grown sons who are both police officers and never been in trouble that we know of. They see her kids all the time, granted they live in the same town and we live an hour away. They don’t call, come visit the kids unless they’re already doing something in their town. They offer to baby sit our nephew on the weekends but “forget” to invite my 6 year old. I feel like it’s because he’s a “real” grandchild and my daughters not. Once our 3 month old us old enough for sleepovers I’m sure he’ll be invited more though 😒 We can’t even ask them to babysit because my husband knows they’ll say no then turn around and complain about not seeing the kids in typical southern fashion.

As much as I’d love to say something, thus is the south and you don’t do that. I’m tired of him making my husband feel like a failure when he’s completely turned his life around and is a wonderful man and father.
