Brothers pt.24

Before they knew it, the local police arrived at the country club. They needed to ask questions concerning Leila’s assault. Vance has holding Leila & had his coat draped around her. Leila’s family was pacing around & angry their daughter was in this predicament right before her wedding. James was pissed that this had happened & wanted to get his hands on whoever did this to her.

Leila was brought to a separate room with the police officers for questioning about what had happened. All her friends were then questioned as well. And the strippers were also questioned. They had Leila & her clothes checked for DNA. The car used was one of the Phillips & they tracked it down. It was abandoned on the side of the road. The detectives involved in the case told the families that it may take weeks or even months ‘til they’d find out who did it.

It was a late night for everyone. Mr. Phillips started sending the guests away & paid off the country club owners to keep their doors open.

Liam: There’s too many questions & not enough answers. The guy couldn’t have gotten that far.

James: How about you & I try to hunt this bastard down?

Liam: I’m down...

Leila finally came out of questioning. Her friends all waited for her to come out & greeted her with a hug.

Leila: What are you all still doing here? Go get some rest.

Renee: We can’t help, but feel responsible in some way.

Jocelyn: There’s no way we’re leaving. We promised to stand by your side.

Leila: Thanks, girls. But none of us knew. Please don’t blame yourselves.

Catherine: Hey, thought you should know that James & your brother are gonna try to hunt this guy down.

Leila: What?

Liam & James come around to the front & everyone meets them at their car.

Mrs. Richardson: Liam!

Liam: Mom, don’t worry about it. I’ll be fine.

Leila comes running out.

Leila: Mom...

Leila burst into tears & into her mother’s arms.

Mrs. Richardson: Come on sweetheart, lets go. You’ve been through too much in one day.

But the night wasn’t over. In fact, it had just begun.
