Can my 3yo stop nap time?

So my 3yo son seems to hate nap time. What toddler doesn't right? But I've noticed on days we dont do naps he goes to bed easier the. Days we do naps. So I'm curious are naps needed in his age?

I worked in childcare and there were some 3-year-olds who just didn’t nap at all. They didn’t need it. But they still had a rest/quiet time for a couple hours each day. 
Sounds like your toddler is growing out of it.

What matters for children is not if they take naps or not, but if they get the recommended amount of sleep in a 24 hour period.

We stopped naps at age 3 because it was getting to the point where he wouldn’t actually fall asleep until 11 pm. It was ridiculous. After we stopped naps, he goes to bed at 8 pm on the dot. It’s lovely. 😅

We dropped her nap a few months before she turned 3. She hated being out down for a nap, and was getting really hard to put down to sleep at night. We started doing quiet time in the afternoon where I’d put on a movie, and she had a few earlier bedtimes, but she adjusted pretty quickly

I’ve always heard kids drop their last nap sometime between 3-5... after that it just varies by child. I would look up how much sleep a three year old needs according to AAP and see if your child achieves at least the lower echelon of that range from overnight sleep alone; if so, I don’t think there’s any harm in dropping the nap.  He may still benefit from an hour of quiet time daily, where you relax, read books or some other quiet activity and are generally free of active or virtual stimulation, as a transition🤷🏻‍♀️

Every kid is different. My first napped until 18m, my second is still having two a day at 14m. If they aren’t working or are more effort then they are worth its worth re evaluating.

My son stopped napping at 2, after that he would take one only when he wanted which wasn't often

All children are different. My eldest two stopped day sleeps at 18months and slept 10-12 hrs at night instead. I’ve had children at work still needing a nap at 4 but most stop around 3 years. :)
