We love the name but scared that he’ll be made fun of because obviously kids are kids 😕

I think it's a great name and here's the thing. Kids are going to find a way to pick on other kids. Be it their name, the way they walk, the way they blink for goodness sakes. 
My parents named me Jessica Sue M---. Can't make fun of that, can ya? Wrong. say JSM fast enough and you get jism. Found that doozy out in middle school. 
You honestly have to just teach little Simon to take a hit and just laugh with the bunch.

I grew up with several kids named Simon and it honestly never occurred to me to tease them about this. Besides, if a kid wants to tease another kid about something, they’re going to find a way to do it regardless of the other kid’s name.

I grew up in a neighborhood with a kid named Simon. We even played Simon Says once in a while (unlike most of today’s children). None of us in the neighborhood ever said anything to him about it. His name felt totally disconnected from the game.
I think it’s a great name, by the way! Even on the off chance that once in a while some kid knows about the game and bothers to make a comment, it’s not like it’s a negative thing. Go for it!

The name Simon will now forever remind me of the movie Love Simon and that movie makes me cry like a baby. So I am a huge fan of the name
