When breastfeeding, do y'all just..

(1) let baby go at it full force until full or (2) take breaks so baby doesn't spit up?

Answer

I can usually tell when my son needs to burp because he slows down or takes long breaks. So I unpatch him and burp him and offer him my breast again. I don’t stop him when he’s going full force though

I let my son lead me really if I see that he fussing and just wiggling with discomfort than I’ll unlatch him and try to burp him but if he’s doing ok I just let him finish and let go on his own.. after we get a good burp or two I latch him back on if he wants to.

I take breaks when she acts like she wants to, she is pretty good at telling me when she needs to. She gets squirmy and starts wiggling her head from side to side and usually pulls herself off the nipple, I sit her up and burp her, then she goes right back to eating. Usually happens once or twice each feeding (she tends to eat for 15-20 minutes at a full feeding)
